“Ten years is a long time between albums, but London world fusion pioneers Chris Franck and Patrick Forge haven't lost their instinct for the killer groove and happy meld. This comeback (Fabiola LP) is still centred on Afro-Brazilia, but the electronica licks have vanished in favour of a more organic sound and there are funk excursions like Ronco da Cuica and Um Amor a Mais in which kora and trombone rub shoulders. Among several guest vocalists Cape Verdean diva Mayra Andrade shines on the languid, string-laden Unknown, but at the heart of things is a cooking live band from a dream dance club.”
